Crochet Sweater in mint

I made this dog sweater for Havana when I was first learning to crochet.

Its made in two parts; 

First crocheting the collar in a "crochet rib" pattern

to give it some stretch, to fit over her  head.

She reminds me of a flower.

In the above photo, Havana is wearing the collar backwards.

Next, the body is created by turning the collar

and crocheting across the back.

Then, a scallop border is created

and the strap is crocheted with the border.

The strap attaches to the body with Velcro.  

This allows for an easy way to don and doff the sweater.

Havana is ready and waiting to go outside.

Meet Havana

I am creating this blog to share about my dog's wardrobe. 

Most small dogs get cold easily, and mine is no exception. 

My dog loves her wardrobe.

She gets very excited when I pull out her tub of clothing. 

This Rat Terrier is Havana.

She is named for the tropical city where I was born.
